The Center for Childhood Cancer Research strives to create innovative effective treatments that maximize the well-being of children with cancer. The goal is to develop new therapies for curing childhood cancers, eventually eliminating the need for surgery, chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Seattle Children’s Research spent $5 million to remodel the 38,000sf space at 1100 Olive to current SCRI Standards and construct a new 16,500sf addition for labs and support. The building consists of a 4,700sf clean room with four manufacturing suits as well as a 1,600sf quality control lab. The remainder of the remodel included: painting, flooring, refreshing lab casework, energy-efficient lighting, servicing mechanical systems and an upgraded information technology infrastructure.
