PRIME returned to the iconic University of Washington’s Husky Stadium after extensive renovations back in 2013 to retrofit 242 LED fixtures and 8 enclosure cabinet structures to the roof and existing light poles. With instant on/off ability, color takeover, and choreographed lighting sequences, this updated lighting enhances the fan experience while increasing energy efficiency. To meet the tight schedule and allow for the least number of disruptions to the facility’s day-to-day operations, the PRIME team hired a helicopter to replace and install the new LED structures on the stadium roof and used a crane to retrofit the light poles. PRIME’s additional scope of this project included the tracing and demolition of existing wiring and conduit followed by control/infrastructure updates to support the new control system and fixture requirements.
